One year I hand painted a breadboard with a Santa Claus in his workshop for my mom and dad. Mom cherishes that painting as if it were amazing.. I think it is the only evidence of my painting.
ReplyDeleteI guess the most amazing handmade gift... is the one I am doing right now for my boyfriend, I went to the V&A museum patchwork pattern maker (http://www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/quilts/patchwork) and I made our favorite picture in to a quilt... I am still sewing I hope I finish before Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy mother made us the most incredible costumes when we were kids. I've been inspired to learn to sew because her work was so great and gave us such happy memories.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite gifts I gave was a valentine. I've one of the best friends a girl could ever have. She's very neat and throws away extraneous papers and things, but she keeps the valentine I gave her a few years ago. I like that holiday and I love halloween so I combined the two. It was pink card stock with black curly printed accents and two mummies on the front. One for me and one for her. The insides had a black and stripy heart and a note about how great she is.
ReplyDeleteThe best handmade item is a beautiful lap quilt my dear friend made for me as a going away present when I moved to another state. I use it almost every day during the winter months to keep me warm as I do my knitting, crocheting, and other crafting projects on the sofa in front of the TV. Thanks.
